Special General Meeting 11th January 2023, 7.30pm - Venue to be arranged
Further to the discussion at the AGM and the Executive Meeting there after, please note we are calling a Special General Meeting to discuss, and vote on, the following Section One rule change:-
Management Committee Proposal for the Amendment to Section 1 Rule 9 (d)
The Management Committee propose that the wording of Rule 9 (d) should now read as follows:
Players in the League are allowed to receive payment from their club either in money or in kind. No testimonial fund or benefit match shall be arranged for any player unless permission has been granted by the Management Committee.
PLEASE NOTE- the current wording is "No player in the League shall receive any payment/collection whatsoever in money or kind. No testimonial fund or benefit match shall be arranged for any player unless permission has been granted by the Management Committee.
This is the only matter to be debated at the SGM, although there will be an Executive Meeting held straight after the SGM which is to cover matters covered in the last Exec. meeting.
Prior to this SGM we are arranging meetings at three venues spread out over the League where all club members are invited to hear and discuss our thoughts on the matter. Again these dates and venues are in discussion but we hope they will be within the next 2-3 weeks and well before Christmas.
